How to acquire praiseworthy qualities?

The author, Ibn Hibban, said:

"This modestly sized work contains elegant meanings that the intelligent and wise need today. It will be, in private, an honest confidant to the wise man and a close protector in public.

I clarify in this book that which will beautify, in the eyes of the sensible man, the practice of praiseworthy qualities and make ugly the practice of reprehensible faults while seeking to prevent persisting in the accumulation of these faults, to lighten the burden of the bearer and to illuminate the ear of the listener."
